INFORMATION CENTERS
Los Angeles, with its "Mediterranean" climate zone provides sunshine year round. Since its founding as a Pueblo in 1781 to its current census, numbering over four million urban dwellers, with over ten million people living throughout Los Angeles County, it is a colorful city where minorities have become the majority. Over 85 different languages are spoken in the schools.

Los Angeles County is an urban city, like quilt-work, it is divided into several major geographic areas: Greater Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and Los Angeles Coastal areas. As a collection of suburbs it is comprised of many facets and many cities. There are over 80 incorporated cities, 1500 miles of "freeways" and over 20,000 miles of surface streets within the bounds of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has and is continually recasting itself as a promised land, health haven, agricultural paradise, movie capital industry, and world financial center.

Film production combined with major radio and television broadcasting companies, have made Los Angeles County the entertainment center of the West. More than three-fourths of all motion pictures made in the United States are produced in the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Area (Hollywood).

Los Angeles provides an abundance of interesting and unique museums, art galleries, attractions, live theatre, shopping and dining. The visitor to Los Angeles will find virtually anything one might be looking for.

Los Angeles is about one hour or less drive from all major airports, Los Angeles (LAX), Orange County (SNA), Ontario, Burbank and San Diego. Getting around Los Angeles and all Southern California communities is easier than most might think. Visitors will want to inquire about the various modes of transportation: car, bus, shuttle, train or plane. Transportation arrangements are easy to make.
